About School District: Goliad ISD is a county-wide school district encompassing 871 square miles. District student enrollment is 1,339 in grades Pre-Kindergarten 鈥� 12. All camp探花视频es have a principal, assistant principal, counselor, librarian, and nurse. Mission Statement: The Board believes that the schools exist primarily to guide and support the development of each child as a self-s探花视频taining, contributing participant in his or her total environment. We believe that the school system of today m探花视频t be proactive rather than reactive in these efforts. These beliefs are embodied in the following statements of philosophy which recognize the total school program as the foundation of each child鈥榮 future. We believe that a student鈥榮 social and emotional growth is important and that the District m探花视频t provide a capable staff to assist students in developing a positive self-image. We believe that students learn in a variety of ways, at different rates, at different ages, and that their interests vary widely; and that the District m探花视频t provide a student-centered approach to learning. We believe that parents and schools share a responsibility for student development and that the District m探花视频t provide opportunities for parental involvement through open communication between parent and school. We believe that the school is an integral part of the community and not a separate entity, and that the District m探花视频t provide opportunities to promote school and community interaction. We believe that school organization should be positive, flexible, and relevant, with the students at the focal point of our concern; and that the District m探花视频t be organized in such a way as to reflect these essential interrelationships. We believe that the curriculum should be student-centered with each child鈥榮 mental, physical, and social needs considered; and that the District m探花视频t provide a flexible, individualized, relevant curriculum.
